Anime Fridays: Top Ten Favorite Opening Songs

I’m late on this post I know but I’m terrible and this week has not been that great for me mentally so here we are with a late Anime Friday that isn’t even going to be about what I talked about last week. I have in fact started Please Save My Earth, but am not done with it yet so here we are with this post about my favorite anime opening songs. Riveting original content, I know.

throwback thursday: amber + henry

Today’s throwback is from the variety talk show, Happy Together hosted mainly by Yoo Jae Suk. This was the 2015 “Oh! Brother” episode that paired stars with their friends who are more like siblings, and also stars Kim Young Chul (comedian) & Jung Sung Hwa (musical theatre actor), and Jinusean (hip hop duo).

It’s long, but the entirety of the episode is worth a watch. The beauty of it is the pure culture shock the hosts and guests face as Amber and Henry do what Amber and Henry do best.

The episodes set in the sauna really were a comic goldmine, so if you ever feel like doing a marathon I recommend starting there.

Anime Fridays Begin!

I’ve been slowly going back the side of anime (we all knew this was going to happen, really) and have decided to take you down with me!

No, seriously. I’m going to be incorporating more anime again to my watchlist and thought that it would be fun to have a series on Fridays where I talk about anime. Let’s say that I’ll commit to every Friday this month and then we’ll see how frequent it becomes after that. I don’t know if it’ll be all reviews, or lists of shows I like or what, but some sort of content focused on anime. Anime is the reason I’m watching dramas while drinking wine in the first place, so might as well pay homage to it.

One of my main goals is to watch a lot of my favorite animes from the past (which is from, oh god, like 20 years ago). Since I spent hundreds of dollars on them and they are just sitting on a shelf collecting dust, it feels right to start from the very beginning. I’ve already decided on my first anime: Please Save My Earth which I personally feel is criminally underrated show, both now and when it aired. It’s a reincarnation story that follows the main characters’ journeys and how they are connected. The story is just beautiful and am excited to see it again after so long.

So sorry this post is a little boring and more of just what I’m going to do, but I’m super excited to see how it evolves. I’ll end with this post with a video to give you a sense of the show:

Just hearing the opening theme again gave me butterflies. I love it.

Throwback Thursday: Wake Me Up

We’re at the point in all this that I’ve started rewatching all of the old kpop videos I loved that I can find, because why not? I also decided that you should be given the opportunity to watch them as well.

My first true kpop love was SS501, and one of the very first variety-type shows that I was introduced to was the Thank You For Waking Me Up series with the comedian Park Kyung Lim:

The managers waking up and not knowing how to function gets me every time. They just don’t make em like they used to.
