I’m very much into podcasts, and have been for a while. I was watching a lot of the video podcasts back in 2005 like Diggnation and Tekzilla. I watched Threadbanger before it became the YouTube channel that it is today (I still mourn them changing their content), and it’s something that I enjoy to use in helping pass the time. I know a lot of people tend to listen to podcasts during their commutes or at work, but I really like them to also play while I’m doing things like cleaning or doing small tasks at work and while we all are at home I still think that you can get a lot out of listening to them.

While I do listen to some Asian entertainment ones, those aren’t the only ones I listen to so I added them to the top of the list.

-Certified Noonas

Shameless plug, but if you haven’t listened to the podcast I’m on, why not spend some time right now? We talk about both dramas and music, and not just Korean content.

-Kchat Jjigae

I consider them the original kdrama related podcast that I found. They’ve been doing it for a while and really are the best and while the beginning focused more on kdrama, they talk about all Asian content including music.

-K-Bae Podcast

I actually don’t really enjoy recap podcasts but there is always an exception to the rule, and that’s K-Bae. They are able to do well and entertaining and are a lot of fun. I cried laughing during their recap of Oh My Ghost.

-K is For Drama

What I really like about this one is that they don’t just focus on the entertainment side and interview people who work in the fandom such as artists and writers.

-Dramas Over Flowers

Not only do they go over what they’ve been watching, but they also dive deeper into news topics in an informed way and I really appreciate it.

-Dive Studios

Any of the podcasts under Dive Studios is great, but I’m partial to Tablo’s podcast. Or any podcast where they have Diane miked. I love Jay and Tablo but they are 1000% times better with Diane.

-A Date With Dateline

I actually found out about this podcast this year and quickly binged through their entire backlog of episodes. They recap Dateline episodes on a personal level, with their love of all the hosts complete with inside jokes and great bingo cards. They are doing recaps right.

-This Week in Tech

I’ve been into tech related news and products for a very long time, and while I’m not so much into it as I once was I still keep up with things and Leo Laporte is the person to go to and one of the originals in the tech news industry. He changes the hosts every week which is really nice because it allows for more opinions, and different people with different backgrounds.

-X-Files Diaries

I guess there is a possibility someone reading this hasn’t figured out that I’m obsessed with The X-Files. Like obsessed obsessed. Been here since 1995 and haven’t looked back and this podcast just gets that. When I listen to a fandom based podcast I want to feel like the host is truly part of the fandom and both hosts are 100% into it.

-Tested

If you were a Mythbusters fan, or like me in the entertainment/theatre/prop world, you’ll really appreciate this podcast. Adam not only talks with other people about how they made something, they also talk about makers spaces, new products and even have spoiler episodes on current movies. Highly suggest going through the old episodes on this one.

-My Favorite Murder

I know this is probably a recommendation most don’t need since they are basically the number one murder podcast, but I’ve been following them since episode 4 and it is still just as great.

-Reply All

Reply All focuses on tech-related stories. I used to be super obsessed with all things tech, and this podcast marries tech with a NPR This American Life style of content. They do regular stories focusing on something that happened that is tech-related (someone stealing an UBER account and figuring out how) and they also do episodes where someone will be stumped on a comment someone has left on Twitter, and the hosts break down every bit of it to explain the inside joke.

-Story Break

Story Break takes an idea and creates a film pitch in an hour. They are hilarious

These aren’t the only podcasts I listen to, but thought that stopping here was a good idea. I didn’t include any podcasts that are currently not updating (even if they have a sizeable backlog), and could go on for a lot longer. If you listen to podcasts, let me know some of your favorites! I obviously listen to a variety and always willing to pick up more.
