2PMathon
I’m crazy and decided to do something in July, and you can join me if you want. I’m using readathon setups to dictate what dramas that I’ll watch. It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and have slightly worked this into readathons that I’ve done in the past by taking some of the prompts for what book to choose, and translated it to which drama was chosen, but I’ve never done it for just dramas alone. And I’ve never seen anyone else do it. I don’t necessarily keep up with readathons the way others do, but what I do really like about them is the challenge of fitting what to choose based on the rules. It helps when you are bad at making decisions. And if you are like me, sometimes you’re so bad at making drama decisions which then leads to just turning on Criminal Minds again for the fortieth time to not have to think.
Now that I’m fully unemployed, I have a lot more time on my hands to do crazy projects that no one actually cares about, but gives me something fun to do for the month of July. My faves 2PM have started to be a little bit more active again so I’ve been preoccupied with them more. I’ve also been focusing my drama picks on my watch list, and watching older dramas. Some of those dramas have 2PM members…this watchathon basically wrote itself.
These won’t be the only dramas I end up watching in July (there are a small handful of currently airing dramas that I will keep up with), however, this will make up the majority of my list. It’s going to be a lot.
Here are the rules if you happen to want to actually do this with me. While you can do whatever you want, I’m really trying to actually follow all of these. I mean, I made them. Might as well:
Watch one drama for each member. Unless you’ve watched everything that each member has done, these shouldn’t be dramas where they have just a cameo. They don’t have to be a main character, but they have to be a character in almost all of the series. If you don’t have a lot of time, a shorter option such as a drama special will do. I realize this means there is no option for Jun. K. Freebie! Go listen to his solo albums instead.
Watch a movie starring a member. Just like with the dramas, don’t choose a special appearance. We’re looking for actual roles.
Priority on drama selection is placed on anything in your currently watching list. Get that always long list down. We’re not just watching this for fun, but also being adults and responsible.
That’s already a lot of things to watch alone. However, if you want to be a superhero and go the extra mile, here’s some additional challenges:
Watch a 2PM specific variety show. They have a lot to choose from, and most can be found online easily.
Watch an episode of a variety show with 2PM as guest. Now that you’ve seen them in variety with each other, see how they act with other people. While it’s better to see them all together, it can be in any combo of the members guesting. Talk shows count.
Watch the 2PM You’re Beatutiful and Cinderella Sister parodies. This is a drama watchathon, might as well watch 2PM remaking the classics.
Watch The Miracle aka The Heirs/Master Sun Parody. This really doesn’t make any sense for this watchathon, but it’s like 15 minutes, and stars everyone plus ten more.
Not gonna lie to you, I made all the rules and then immediately regretted some of my choices, which you’ve probably already figured out if you know my drama tastes, but I am committed to this challenge. Here is what I’m currently thinking for my lineup:
Drama for each member: Taecyeon: The Game Towards Zero. Nichkhun: Shall We Fall in Love. Wooyoung: Dream High. Junho: Confession. Chansung: My Angry Boss.
Let’s stop and talk about those choices. Out of the group, Confession and My Angry Boss are dramas I have already started. Check that off as good ones from my watch list. It also means that I don’t have every episode to watch, so less in episode count number. The Game was one I wanted to watch, so glad that it’s back on priority…and here’s where we get a little iffy. Shall We Fall in Love is a cdrama. A 35 episode one. It is also a cdrama in not my preferred genre. But it has Fei and I love Fei. I’m hoping things turn out, but all of Nichkhun’s options are cdramas, so it was limited. And then there is Wooyoung. This is going to be the hardest challenge, my friends. The hardest. It also might be the hardest for you if you choose to do this challenge as it’s the only option for him. Yay!
I haven’t picked a movie option just yet, so for now it’ll just be up in the air until I find one that’s accessible or fits my mood for whenever I get to it.
Other challenges: As I’ve loved 2PM for a while, I don’t actually have to do most of these (I’ve watched a lot of 2PM content) but will probably rewatch some things for nostalgia.

Junho: Just Between Lovers, Wok of Love, Chief Kim
Chansung: My Holo Love, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Romance Written Differently
And some movies:
Taecyeon: Marriage Blue
Nichkhun: Brother of the Year, Seven Something
Junho: Homme Fatale, A Rose and a Tulip, Twenty
Chansung: Red Carpet, A Dynamite Family
2PM has been on a lot of variety shows, and all of their specific group ones are good. Or you could just watch a handful of Real 2PM. Honestly, it’s up to you how much or little you consume, but why not watch good content? If you do end up doing this watchathon, let me know. I doubt there will be anyone, but who knows.
