Music Highlights + November Releases
I figured just like my monthly drama posts where I talk about what I watched and what I am looking forward to, I would do a separate one for music. I have several places where I talk about the music that I’m into at the moment, but a dedicated post seems fitting.
October Highlights:
I do have a monthly thread on Twitter of the new releases that come out that I’m into, but will probably stop doing that at the end of the month. I’ll still link that here, and highlight a few of the ones that really stood out.
-Tricot came out with the album “10” to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The entire album is great, I don’t think I can choose a favorite. Tricot tends to be a group where I just listen to all of their music instead of focusing on specific ones.
-Pentagon came out with what is quickly becoming one of my top songs of the year, ‘Daisy’. I’ve been fighting Pentagon all year since ‘Dr. Bebe’ came out (which I loved). I don’t need to pick up a new group, but I guess we’re here. I almost made it till the end of the year.
-SoYoON x Phum Viphruit came out with a collab, ‘Wings’. I already am absolutely in love with Soyoon’s voice, but this combo is fantastic and their voices work so well together. If you are already a fan of Se So Neon, you’ll still really love this single. It keeps their vibe. I’m looking forward to more collabs in the future.
-DPR Ian came out with the ‘So Beautiful’ and the song is equally as amazing as the video. It’s been on repeat since it dropped, and I need more.
-Young K has been busy with putting out an OST for a web drama (which he also guest-starred in), ‘Insomnia’, and another one of the unreleased demos, ‘Is It’. If you are unaware, he’s been putting out songs that were written for DAY6 but were rejected as raw demos on their YouTube. This one is not my favorite, but the lyrics really hit a spot with me and it’s been holding a special place because of it.
N.Flying and ATEEZ put out some amazing covers this month that need to be seen.
